Fast, great portrait lens. Works very well on my D7100.
I recently purchased this lens, and I am more than pleased with it. It is excellent for sports/action photography in most lighting conditions, even in an indoor setting. Very fast lens, and great quality. The constant max aperture of f/2.8 is really nice, giving a wide aperture throughout the entire focal range.
I have owned and used this lens a lot since August of 2006. I use it a lot for in the ring "action shots" at dog shows, indoor available light. Currently use it with my D7100 and have had awesome results. I am sure I use it for several thousand shots per year. I have used it over the years on both FX (D700) and DX (D50, D80, D300, D7000, and D7100). Always pleased with this lens. One important comment, for years I was using it on DSLR bodies with standard or padded neck straps. This past year I moved on to the Black Rapid straps. Not only is this much more comfortable for me to carry through a day's work, but it is also better for the Lens/camera ring connection, much less stress at that point. I hook the black rapid to the lens via the tripod ring. I am sure I was putting unneeded wear on the Lens' connection and the DSLR body in the past. Here is an example of the photos, this one at 86mm on a D7100: http://cgernazio.smu...-25/i-3pfmxFb/A
