Nikon Announces 6 New Compacts

Today Nikon announced 6 new exciting compact cameras, upgrading many of the existing models in its lineup.
First up is the Nikon Coolpix S32, an underwater all-weather compact with 13 megapixels and full HD video recording. Just $129:

Next is the Nikon Coolpix AW120, which is the flagship underwater model. Complete with GPS, Wi-Fi, and waterproofing to 65 feet, it's truly a go-anywhere camera. $349:

Next we have two superzoom bridge cameras. The Coolpix P600 has 60x optical zoom and Wi-Fi ($499), and the Coolpix P530 has 42x optical zoom ($449).

There's also the pocketable Coolpix S9700 with 16 megapixels, 30x optical zoom and Wi-Fi:

Last but not least is a new version of Nikon's enthusiast compact, the Cookpix P340 featuring a low-light 12-megapixel sensor (1/1.7" size) and built-in Wi-Fi for $379:

Nikon D3300 and 5 New Coolpix Compacts Announced

In preparation for the 2014 Consumer Electronics Show, which starts today in Las Vegas, Nikon has announced the D3300 DSLR, its new entry-level offering which will be replacing the D3200 from last year. A new AF-S DX Nikkor 18-55mm VRII kit lens was also launched alongside the D3300.
In addition to this new DSLR, Nikon also announced five new Coolpix Compacts: the L30, L830, S5300, S3600, and S6800. We will not be focusing on these compacts in this post.

Nikon has just announced the new Nikon DF, a retro-styled DSLR with a "de-crippled" mount that supports even Nikon's oldest F-mount lenses. The DF will optionally be available with an AF-S 50mm F1.8G Special Edition lens that matches its design.
The full specifications for the Nikon DF as well as the new 50mm lens are now available in our databases. In the US, the camera body will retail for $2749, while the 50mm lens kit is an extra $250. Read on for more about this exciting camera!
