100% agree, I've been blown away by this camera.
Exactly, you can put the D800 in DX mode and still get improved IQ with the DX glass while you are building up your FF library.
I bought a 50mm 1.8D off a friend for $50 and I love it, I actually still use my 35mm 1.8G without putting the camera in DX and get very little vignetting.
Might just do this, Buy the body first use my old DX lenses untill i sell them than buy new lenses many thanks guys.

I wish I would have done the same, i mean having bought full frame lenses. but we live and learn.

I have been a photographer and shop proprietor for over 35 years and finaly retired
I now do photography as a hobby and do some work for some of my old customers
I own a Nikon D300 and most likely will update to a D600 or D800 haven't decided yet
I am looking forward to partisipate in this forum.
