Nikon D200 pics open at only 12" wide.

08 April 2015 - 07:04 PM

Here's a question, in the past I have used other people's cameras, and when I plug the card into my computer, the images open sometimes as much as 60" wide. Now, the settings on my D200 are at Fine & Large, but they only open at 12" wide. Why is that? And can I change it to the larger measurement? Thanks! R-

NEVER EVER DO THIS

09 January 2015 - 07:37 AM

Nikon camera users - novice or expert. It pays to have knowledge about speed lights. I would say I am at the moderate level with using cameras. I currently use a D200. Nice camera. But alas, I am not a big manual reader (that has recently changed). So never, ever put a non- compatible flash unit on your camera. It throws a curve at the camera's computer. I thought an old speed-light would work on my D200. Of course it didn't. And my camera was glitch ridden afterwards. I spent a week trying to resolve the glitches on my D200. So on a whim, I purchased a D200 compatible flash unit, and the instant I attached it to my hot shoe, the glitches disappeared, and the camera works flawlessly (as if it was thanking me). I know some of you pros out there are laughing, but I'm lazy. Occasionally I have to learn the hard way... Advice to my fellow lazy friends out there. RZ

D200 stuck in X250 shutter mode

22 December 2014 - 04:31 PM

I have just picked up this D200, and I had one some time back and never had this issue. In the M (manual) mode, and the S (shutter) mode, the shutter is stuck at X250. I visited other blogs about "stuck in X250 mode" and tried all the fixes: pull out the battery, reset the camera (both 2 button and menu reset), make sure BKT is on OF, etc. Nothing will help. Just an afterthought, when I go to menu/custom/bracketingflash/flashsyncspeed and change the shutter speed to a different number, then M & S are stuck in that number. Does this make sense or does it sound like the computer damaged. Thanks. R-
