Lighting Advice

23 March 2016 - 08:45 AM

Hi Guys,

Lomg time no post. Hope everyone is doing well.

I've been asked by a friend to take some 'crooner' style photos. I've got 2 x yongnuo flashes (a 560III and a 560IV) a white shoot through umberella. Two rectangular medium softboxs and a flash bender.

I imagine I'm leaning more towards a low key image. Any ideas on which lighting combination would work best or any tips at all...flash is something I've always struggled with.

Carl Ziees Lens

Hi Again All,

Last night I was given a 35mm Practica film camera and 2 Carl Ziees Lenses (50mm and 135mm).

I'm gonna learn film a little bit but was wondering about the lenses.

Does anyone know if there is an adaptor to use these lenses with D5300? I know there wont be auto focus and I'll have to set the apature manually but I hear they are very good quality lenses and want to have a play.

To Shoot Or Not To Shoot

16 June 2015 - 01:03 PM

Hi All,

Been away for a while trying to concentrate on my Camera skills as opposed to just talking about photos online.

I've come crawling back for some advice. Today I've been asked to shoot a charity calendar for my sister friend. The shoot would be free with me being credited for the photos on the calendar.

Most is all well and good apart from the idea...she states she is just wanting 11 group shots. Each group will be standing behind a table that show what service they offer.

Maybe I'm just being a littlw unappreciative here but doesn't that sound a little borning? I mean..whos gonna look at a photo of a group of people behind a table and think "I wonder who that photographer is, I might get him to do my next portrait?!"

What do you guys think? Take it or Leave it?
