One more, took this today. Our local Zoo. D610, 600 mm, ISO 4000, 1/800 @ F10. Its hard getting the depth of field how you want it with such a large lens.

Took this one Monday. Was using my D3s and about 10 shots later the shutter snapped off. :(

#41406 Surfing

Why do people always surf around a pier? lol

Nice shots. Both detail and color are spot on.

My guess on the "what decade are we in" question, the 40s?

I work pretty much all the time out of my Think Tank rolling bag. No matter how small the job.

I never tried photographing a surfer before but while on vacation this past week I thought I'd give it a try.

#40803 J3 dark lens?

Posted by etphoto on 22 July 2016 - 07:17 AM

What TBonz said, clean the contacts. Also, take the lens off and look though it while changing the FStop manually to make sure the FStop is changing. I'm curious to see if you are stuck on F22 for some reason.

So, this is what you do when you're waiting for the carpet installers to call. Go out in the back yard and take a picture of some bee checking out one of your pond flowers. D3s, 600mm, ISO 3200, F11 @ 1/1000

Ok, I'll be first. I'm not a big "taking pictures of flowers person" but I couldn't resist the water lily in my backyard pond. D3s, 5000 ISO, 600mm, Shutter @ 640, F10. Had to wait for an overcast day to get that even light.

Kind of boring, but hardly anyone is posting images this week so I added one. Business portrait I did. Company hires me once a year to capture their new employees. D3s, 85 mm lens, F2.5, ISO 320 @ 1/320.

They wanted the images shot in the open office so to keep the busy background at a minimum I wanted the fast F stop and higher shutter speed. Light source was a Westcott softbox.

You folks have been busy this week! Lots of great images!

Tonight I engaged in a little bit of cliche image-making...was requested to do a four-generation image with frames (actually it started out as a five-generation image request, but the great-great-grandmother is out of state and practically on her deathbed). So I did it. It's pretty much all I did this week. Still moving into a new house...

Used the 85mm lens for this one and added the Westcott 50-inch softbox on camera left, silver reflector on camera right.

Very nicely done.
