Except for rain it was another great year at Sebring. All pics from my D7100 with the newer Nikkor 18-300. For those in the know the pics of the Ferrari are NOT the 458. This year's race included the debut of the 488. COOL!
It was another great year at the 24 hours of Daytona. All the below were taken with a D7100 and the new NIKKOR 18-300. Shutter priority 1/2000 on the track and 1/400 in the garage. Once again my D7100 did a great job. It's difficult to track these cars while perpendicular and accelerating through 180 mph. With the trigger button held all the way down I just let the AF-C do its thing. It misses once in about 25 shots, but that's primarily due to other things being in the focus path. Light poles, flag poles, structures etc.
For once I abstained from family and went on a Christmas cruise to Cozumel. Here's the breakdown. IMO Cozumel is way overrated. Take the cruise ship industry out of there and it becomes Gilligan's Island without the castaways. The Mayan ruins pictured are also overrated. I guess I should have went to the other site? Wild Iguanas are intimidating to look at, but they're cool! Otherwise the cruise was way better than my family ever could be! It may be the start of a new tradition?
