Posted by Jocktog on 17 October 2013 - 08:48 AM

I'm also Glasgow born and bred and now down south. I have just returned from a trip home and a little tour of Scotland. I'm not sure of my next visit but I'll keep a look out incase you have a meet up or photowalk arranged that may coincide with one of my visits.

#945 Light Painting Tips

Posted by Jocktog on 01 October 2013 - 05:12 PM

The dark nights are rolling in fast here in the UK so will be out trying some long exposure and some lightpainting techniques soon. I'll be keeping an eye on this and also hope to post some images from my exploits.

#934 Wireless triggers.... what are people using?

Posted by Jocktog on 01 October 2013 - 05:04 PM

I have only just switched to Nikon. Previously I has a set of Calumet wireless triggers on my Canon and they worked really well on both my strobes and studio lights and were really useful when out doing star trails and lightpaint/night photography..... What I would like to know is what triggers peeps on here are using and any pros or cons to them. I know quite a lot about pocket wizards but cant spring for them at the moment so I'm looking for reliable alternatives.

#831 FYI-Rechargable Batteries for Speedlights

Posted by Jocktog on 01 October 2013 - 03:17 PM

I have used various brands of rechargables and have to echo the comment above from Davem45. get the highest Mah# that you can no matter what brand you get. In the UK I have found the best for me to be Calumets AA 2700's. I got a deal on a bundle as the rest of my stash was getting a bit long in the tooth when it came to charging. That been said lots of my tog friends have moved to eneloops and swear by them so next time I buy it will be them.
