Hi All,

I'm finally going to make the jump into Mirrorless but I'm not going to drop my D5 just yet.    How does the Z9 hold up in the sports arena?    I do a lot of high school football, softball, basketball, and baseball along with college level basketball and baseball and Pro baseball(Double A).    Is there anything that I should look out for?    What are some recommended settings?

Just some of my shots from the past 18 months

Hi All!

While I may be new here, I'm not exactly new to photography.   I've been in love with photography pretty much all my life from the Christmas that I got my first 110 film camera when I was 7 years old to assisting and being a 2nd shooter for my uncle when he would do weddings back in the day with his film cameras, and so on till modern day when I'm now the photographer in the family.  I'm a school bus driver/dispatcher for a local school bus company and I love it because it allows me to do a lot of the sports charters for the various school districts that we service in Southwestern PA.   During these trips I almost always carry my camera gear with me it's the perfect way to pass the time on those 4-hour long football games etc.    You should see the looks on these peoples faces when I get my gear out and I'm walking towards the stadium and they ask me what newspaper/media outlet I'm with and I tell them none that I'm the bus driver for such and such team it's just priceless.   I find that 98 times out of 100 though that I normally run into the right person to ask if I could get access to the field or the areas I need to get some really great photos.    After I'm done I take the photos that I got and I share them with the various coaches and athletic directors  and all I ask in return that I'm given credit for the photo.    They really enjoy seeing the work that I do.   Sports photography isn't the only genre of photography that I enjoy I pretty much do anything with the exception of landscape and wildlife photography.    As long as my shutter can go "click" I"m a happy camper.
