AmazonBasics Camera Bag?

01 February 2014 - 05:30 PM

I looked around at many camera bags recently, and was amazed at the tiny sizes and some of the prices. I admit not being able to view them in person really makes for a hard shopping experience.

I decided if nothing else I'd just buy one to hold enough goodies when I am out and about with my camera (I am a hobbyist anyway), and was low in price, in case it wasn't what I expected.

I ordered the AmazonBasics large DSLR camera bag and it arrived today. Seems like it will fit my need and is well constructed. Although it will definitely not hold everything I have gotten only 2 weeks into the hobby of using my D3100.

I'll have to wait until I have more time to fill/organize my bag as my day job awaits me, so I thought I'd ask some opinions.

Does anyone have any experience with this particular camera bag? How well does it hold up, and how much can you get to fit?

Hello From Indiana

Hello,

I'm a new Nikon user, just purchased a like new D3100 with a Nikkor AF-S 24-85mm ED lens about 2 weeks ago.

I've since purchased a Vello Shutterboss (release) that will allow me to do time lapse/long exposures/etc, back-up shutter release, metal extension tube set, reversal ring, macro screw on lens, a Vivitar 100-300mm lens from ebay, and a handful of other things to get me started.

I have a small budget, but have been getting many various goodies as I can - seems I've been bit by the photo bug and gear bug as well.

I've bought many low end cameras for years growing up. I starting with various hand me down cameras, attached is a picture with me and my sisters when I was about 6 years old (oldest photo I know of with me and a camera).

I then started buying my own point and shoot 110 film cameras, 35mm, and my first digital camera a Sony Digital Mavica MVC-FD51. I've since had many other digitals, and my most recent was a Fuji film S1500.

The Fuji camera with all the manual settings really got me to wanting a D-SLR. I figured if I was to get one, I'd get a brand I trust and is popular, and one that I wouldn't have to worry about upgrading anytime soon. So I got a Nikon D3100 and couldn't be happier.

I hope to learn plenty, and contribute around the forum.
