Choosing a full frame Nikon DSLR

05 April 2021 - 04:31 PM

Hey everybody, Photoglady here. I have a D7000 but I want to upgrade to a full frame. I shoot all types of photos, but I"m looking for something that will do real estate/architectural really well. Saw a couple deals on a D4 and the D4s. Any suggestions or advice are much appreciated. Thanks!

F2 bad light meter

06 October 2020 - 12:58 PM

First off, hello from New Orleans! i'm a new member, and i look forward to chatting.

I have an F2 that i love but the light meter just died. I am trying to decide what to do. I could buy a DP-1 viewfinder and keep going, but i've yet to see one with a working meter. I could sell the camera as is and buy another F2. I could buy a handheld meter and keep the camera. Or, i could upgrade to a used Medium Format film camera....Decisions!! What are your thoughts. I really love medium format, so not out of the realm of possibilities (regardless of my F2 decision)....

Thanks!---Lauren

Nikon F2 Photomic bad meter

03 October 2020 - 02:48 PM

Hey y'all, thanks for the add! Hey from New Orleans!

I have a Nikon F2 Photomic, circa 1972, it's my baby and i love her. However, recently, the light meter has stopped working. I have a decision to make, and i'd love some input.

A) I can keep it and buy a handheld meter (which i want anyway)

B) I can keep the lens, which is perfect, and sell the body, then buy another F2

C) I can sell the camera and lens as is, buy another.....

what do y'all think? Meter will be about $220, camera, whether body only or with a 50mm will run somewhere around $200-300, depending on condition.

Can't wait to hear your thoughts, thanks in advance!!!
