I needed the D610 like another hole in my ass !  What I need, is an upgrade to my most excellent D300s !

Well, I hate to say it, but I think the day of the pro DX is dead...
Why don't Nikon then upgrade the beloved D700 with a 24MP, Vidio equipped, 51 point AF,  D710 ?|

I'd be first in line to plunk down my money to pre-order one way before I'd buy an amature FX that feels like a toy.

Price it correctly and it would blow Cann's 5Mk III out of the water.

I just don't want to have to invest in the best FX glass just to attach it to an prosumer body and I don't want the cost associated with processing 36 MP RAW files...

I've just about decided to upgrade my D300s and make the leap to FX.  What I would really like is a 24 MP FX ib a pro body like the D700 w/51 point AF... It looks as if I'm goint to have to jump ship and switch to the Canon Eos 5 MK III to get it...
I've been a loyal Nikon buyer since the '70s but they just seem to be a few steps behind Canon.

I guess Nikon jus hammered the final nail in the pro-DX's coffin... RIP Pro-Body DX !

If I was going to jump, it would be a huge leap to the Eos 5 MkIII.

Since Nikon is waiting for Canon to release their Pro DX model before they release the D400, They must be worried about Cannon too.Since jumping to FX would require new lenses to make the best of the move, I may as well commit myself to going all the way.

Anyway, a move to the D800/800e would also require an upgrade of computor and monitor to speed up my workflow due to the crazy MP count of th D800 platform.  Rumers of Sigma's 24-70 f2.0 Art Lens also has me antsy to go FX...

I think if this lens gets the same rave reviews as their 18-35 f1.8, and has the same savingsas compared to Nikon glass, the landing will be a lot easier... Sigma seems to be a company who has gotten their act together and seems to really have taken their customer's well being to heart.
