D500 losing Lens details mid burst AF0

04 August 2020 - 04:25 AM

D500 losing Lens details mid burst (AF0), I have been using this kit for over 2 years Nikon D500 with Sigma 150 x 600 C lens, been a very reliable combination.  23rd June was the first time I noticed during a short burst, that some of the images were black, Got Home, checked  for possible remedies on You Tube cleaned the contacts of the lens and camera. I tried different settings, all seamed to be good. Everything was good until yesterday 3rd August, same thing happened again.

I was on Shutter Priority which changed itself to Aperture Priority, the metering also changed from Matrix to center-weighted average

image metadata it says,

Manual Lens No CPU,

Aperture f/0,

Focal Len. 0.0mm

Can anyone offer any advice, I cannot find anything reference to this issue anywhere.

Thanking you for your time

regards

John
