Hi Leon

Make sure you update to v3.1 now for you Z6 which came out yesterday 21st. July 2020  I had a problem with the RAW images on the FTZ  converter.  This has fixed it.

Hi

I am John from the most easterly point of UK.  I purchased my Z6 about a year ago as an upgrade to my old work-horse D90.   I first looked on forum about a month or so ago because I was having major issues with the transfer of RAW images on the Z6 with the FTZ converter.

The lens correction appeared not to be applied according to the information associated with the image as my editing software was applying this automatically resulting in a large black vignette.   I had "fixed" this issue by suspending the auto application of lens correction in my editing software.  There appeared to be some confusion on the forum although one person said the camera firmware was sending on information incorrectly as the Z6 was doing in-camera lens correction.

At last we have a fix from Nikon in the form of v3.1 firmware for the Z6/Z7 yesterday and it appears to resolve the problem.

In Topic: rumor has the Z body's get firmware update on feb 20 2020

I have a Z6 with FTZ  and Sigma 17-50mm f2.8 lens attached.  Earlier I found issues with transfer of lens correction information.  Looking at other comments on this forum it appears I was not the only one it appeared that the associated information from the RAW image had implied that lens correction was not being done in-camera.   I was getting a large dark vignette on my RAW images as my edit software was told to automatically apply the lens corrections for the Sigma at 17mm.  Users suggested that this was wrong as it WAS being applied in-camera although there was some confusion.

I have tested it and very latest version of Z6 camera firmware (21 July 2020) v3.1  does appear to now be sending on the correct  message that lens corrections have already been applied.
