#73191 The new NX Studio: not running on Windows 10 64bit...

Posted by Ron on 27 April 2021 - 02:16 PM

Thanks for the comeback. I appreciate it.

Since I'm tethered to the Adobe ecosystem for the time being, I guess I'll hold off on upgrading to NX-Studio. I really don't need the hassle.Truth be known, I have only sporadically used NX-D even though I've been tempted at times to use it more because of the good reviews I've seen about the way it handles NEF files.

… but a bit clunky!

We shall see… only v. 1.

#72625 Have you heard about NEW & FREE Nikon's NX Studio?

Thanks, point taken :) .....may well bypass NX but will still wait for the C1 discounts then decide.

You might as well give Capture NX-D a try. It has become quite useful in the last versions.

I want it to replace my free version of Capture One before I have to pay for the discounted full version!

Just be aware that Nikon's record — in terms of software quality and
support — is not brilliant. Since NX is new… let's wait and see.

Nikon have been quirky when it comes to the UI as well as how it works on different platforms ever since NX2 became NX-D. The resulting photos from the NEF-s made it worthwhile to stand the quirks. Let's hope the same still stands.

Hopefully the bugs will be sorted soon.

I've been investigating… and my observation at this point is
that Nikon — as much as I've been a strong believer in their
gear up to now — is not doing so great in terms of software.

I've been experimenting — since its release — NX Studio and
my observation at this point is that Nikon has a looong way to
go to convince me that they are devoted to get to higher stan-
dards and have me switch to it as my main converter.
