Getting the dials up on a D3500

10 October 2019 - 08:07 AM

Please take a look at this and at time=7:02. https://www.youtube....h?v=CmO1JAGi9Ek. How does he get this display up? I have tried every button but what I get is just some information around the live view but no dials.

I'm in A mode just like he is. Note that I can get the dials up if I use Auto mode but then I can't change anything.

Using a remote to take pictures

I have a d3500. I would like to know if there is a way to use a wired remote control and where I can buy one.

Setting manual focus to infinity

17 September 2019 - 07:55 PM

I want to take pictures of stars so I want to set my focus to infinity. I found that if I rotate the focus clockwise (looking from live view), that will move the focus for farther away. How can I tell when I have moved the focus all the way to infinity?

Bringing up the Shutter Speed/F stop and ISO display

14 September 2019 - 06:09 AM

I have a new D3500. I found that I can bring up the  full Shutter Speed/F stop and ISO display by pressing Info and I can change the shutter speed with the wheel and I can press the +- button and change the F stop. But I can't figure out how to move the focus to the ISO icon. Is there a way?

Using Continuous release mode is intermittent

09 September 2019 - 04:06 AM

I have a new D3500. I am trying to use Continuous mode so I pressed the Continuous button and sets it to Continuous, then I set it to MF and moved the selector to M. That worked but it is intermittent ... if I go back to Auto then try the Continuous mode again it fails. If I let the camera set for an hour or so it will start working again.

Does anyone know what could be wrong?
