D7500 continuous high and low speed shooting

i tryed using my d7500 in high speed shooting mode today

instead of firing off shots like a machine gun until the buffer filled it was only shooting about 1 shot per second

i tryed low speed continous with the same results

i tryed various lenses with the same results

previously both shooting modes have worked fine
