D7000 Manual mode lock of shutter and F/stop?

31 July 2019 - 03:45 PM

I have 4 x D7000 nikons and seem to be unable to figure out how to lock (in manual mode) the shutter speed and the aperture selection.  Say F/8 @ 250.... Necessary after determining the correct exposure on set for portrait production at subject point.  It's very easy to roll the two thumbwheels by accident - therefore changing your calibrated exposure setting.  (After doing a careful exposure reading and custom white balance of course!) Locking this - is possible on my D500 and 800...but I can't figure it out on the 7000's.  Anyone know the secret menu dive to get er done?  Thought I'd ask.  Thanks!

Newbie to this forum. Questions

31 July 2019 - 03:18 PM

It was extremely difficult to see the images that were there for verification (just an fyi).  It took me 9 tries...well me 7 and my wife two more....then i got lucky.  I have a large color corrected monitor...so it's not me...horrible image colors.  That's over hopefully.  So question is - does this forum have ANYTHING to do with the actual Nikon company?  I will not deal with them in any fashion.  They just don't care any more.  I love their cameras - but they are not interested in their users at all.... They've made that very very clear.  All that aside - i have 13 nikons - and a multitude of lenses - i.e. I like their product most of the time.  If this is a 'user' group for support outside of the company - I'm all in.   Thanks!
