I shoot mostly stills on Auto and prefer single point focus. It may be an annoyance, but I set it up accordingly, and every time I power cycle the camera, I have to reset it to single point focus. Is there a way to make the focus settings non-volatile in Auto?

I'm old school having taken some great shots with my 5500 over the past 10 years. It's wearing out an thought about going with a 7500, but if has less resolution (20.9 vs 24.2 MP) Given that, would you suggest getting another used 5500, or is there something I'm missing about the 7500?

I was trying to shoot some lightening last night and set the trigger to intervalometer. Not turning the camera off, it was only set for a period of time and then reverted back to button trigger.  I would like to set it, and keep the setting during the session without having to reset it every few minutes. Is there a command to lock it? Thanks in advance.
