#70227 D810 Lens Mounting Plate ~ Slightly popping away from camera body housing?

Posted by Nikon Shooter on 11 October 2020 - 08:38 PM

I use two of these bodies in my working arsenal and can tell you
that, thought they're not a mono-piece of magnesium alloy like
the single digit bodies I also have, these D8xx are very well built
and sturdy cameras. I had no problem of any kind with them and
they are used intensively — but with much care — in my work.

Without seeing your gear, my first recommendation would be to
have it checked by Nikon.

#70212 D850 vs D500, is it worth the extra $1,000?

In combo with a very long prime lens, the D850 is the tool
I take along for all wildlife work.

I forgot…

the minimum focusing distance should be at a metre or so
for the long lenses… if I may!

#70199 D850 vs D500, is it worth the extra $1,000?

A colleague often spends to spend time with me at the marsh.
He shoots with the D5 and I with the D850 /600mm ƒ4 combo.

When he triggers, he gets double frame rate per second then me
but after culling, he doesn't get much of an edge in terms of cho-
sen moment and certainly not in terms of resolution.

has to be an internal focus, internal zoom lens…

IF and IZ are prerequisites of course!

… and make the size... half an empty beer can. Donno what I was thinking before. Jeeze, a whole beer can. That's just nuts.

Yes, half… just the right size!  :P

How about a 10~1000mm f/1.0 that's about the size and weight of an empty beer can? :P

Now Ron… this is science fiction!

#70149 The One Nikon Didn't Make

Posted by Nikon Shooter on 04 October 2020 - 05:16 PM

I'll play dream!

Since I will never use a TC and I am limited in focal length by the
current lens productions, the dream I have is a 100MP sensor.

My D850's are fantastic's bodies with 45.7MP so that means that
at a 100MP, the result would be like having a 1200 mm lens… :P

Man, I don't want to wake up and stop that dream!

#70130 Beginner Tripod Head

Thanks for the info!

Ok, I see you're on the lighter side of it. The Manfrotto Befree 3-way
is very capable to carry that load but my very personal opinion is that
it may be way too impractical with its long handles and the "fluid drag
system" may slow down your reaction time in critical moments.

Did you investigate ball heads?
