These more affordable lenses tend to vary much more in what correction is needed at different settings than your pro zooms.

The Sigma lens has the option to fine tuning AF over the complete range using the USB-dock and computer software. More work, but doable.

The AF Fine Tune I am referring to needs no
software and is performed within the camera.

I only use IF lenses so neither would find room in
my bag…

Two students of mine are using that caliber of glass,
they get good results after the usual AF Fine Tune. A
compromise must be found for both end of the zoom.
