With the Cheetah it’s the primary subject as it takes up a good portion of the frame, plus there’s nothing close to it and the background is a good distance behind it. The Cardinal on the other hand is in a busy environment with all the branches. Just taking a guess that the autofocus had picked one of the branches instead of the bird.

I took two shots and blended them together. I took one for the landscape and a second for the moon. After pasting the good image of the moon in I Sized it to the existing disk and softened the edges of the moon to try and blend it in better.

If I still had all my canon glass it would have been a good option to try out mirrorless as I would only have had to buy the body.

The sky color this night was very muted(?), there was not the usual bright yellows and oranges.
