My upgrade path was very similar to Morticia's Keeper.

I started with a D40X -> D90 -> D7200. I still use my D90 as a second body and would totally recommend it as a D40 upgrade. For me the biggest advantages (over my D40X) were the additional focus points, frames per second, higher ISO and internal focus motor so I could seamlessly use legacy glass from my wife's N6006 film camera.

That said, make a list of where you've outgrown your D40. You may find a newer generation D3XXX, D5XXX, D7XXX would be better than a D90 since that camera was discontinued in 2011.

Oh wow. I want one. It's amazing to me that it's almost 100 percent original. It must really have been babied for its entire existence. What a rarity.

TY! Actually a man discovered it in his his late grandmother's garage after he inherited the property. Grandma never learned how to drive so when Grandpa died it just sat in the garage for nearly 70+ years. The grandson didn't want it so he put it up for sale. That's how the current owner came to have it.

Spotted this car parked along the Tomhannock Reservoir. Not long after I started taking some shots the owner came back up from the shore and gave me guided tour. This vehicle is nearly 100% original (including the interior upholstery!)
