Nikon 35mm 1.8G is being weird about autofocusing.

04 February 2018 - 01:24 AM

I just got a brand new D7200, a 10-20mm, and the aforementioned 35mm. However, I just noticed that the 35 is very weird about how it autofocuses. It doesn't have issues making small focus adjustments, but when I want to go from my hand, to say, a building across the street, it starts behaving weirdly; it will focus near my hand, and then make very loud micro-adjustments that don't stop until I release the focus button, and press it again. And this isn't due to low light, since my 10-20mm has no issues, and it's minimum aperture is 4.5. Anyone know what's going on?

Dropped My D7200

22 January 2018 - 07:55 PM

Less than a week ago, I got a brand new nikon D7200. Needless to say, it really sucks to have it break so early. So, I was on my computer, playing some games, when I rolled back in my chair. The neckstrap, that I carelessly left dangling off the side of a chair I keep next to my desk, got caught under the wheels and pulled my camera off and crashed into the floor. The AE-L / AF-L button is now stuck, and I can no longer go to the menu, browse photos (though quick review does work), or take video. Autofocusing doesn't work at first, but if I go in and out of live view, it fixes. The only signs of damage are some slight deformations around the aforementioned AE-L / AF-L button. There is a slight noise when shaking the camera, but it doesn't sound like a loose part shaking, and I think it's just the reflex mirror shaking in place.  Does anyone have an idea as to what part is broken?
