OK, so I guess there's an agreement on the cropping situation. Thanks everyone for your input :)

#52996 B&W beach portrait

Hey everyone,

I'm fairly new to photography (roughly 2 years). I'm spent some time trying to understand camera mechanics, composition, gear, and post-production. I believe I have a basic understand on all those subjects. Hopefully your critique will make me understand even more.

I took this shot while on vacations to Greece. We were at the beach some time after noon, so the sunlight was quite harsh. Luckily, the beach umbrella acted like a diffuser (didn't plan for this but the result is quite smooth). I used my D5500, with a Nikon 50mm f1.8 prime.

* 35mm focal length: 75mm

* Aperture: f2

* Exposure: 1/1250

* ISO: 100

Any feedback will be greatly appreciated. I also experimented with a tighter crop around the head, but for some reason I like the dynamics of the current crop.

I had a feeling that was the case with the Nissin, but couldn't figure it out. Thanks for your help :)
