Very useful comments I got here from you guys.  So I am not going to buy the IR filters for my D850.

There are many more special effects we can exploit to make unusual pictures with that camera.

At the end, I decided to buy the Columbus V-1000 GPS watch.  It has the advantage of avoiding any battery consuming devices/cables.  It is independent from the cameras.  It generates a GPX or CSV file that keep track of time (to be synchronised with the time of the camera).

Once this file is uploaded into a Mac, and once the pictures of any camera are also uploaded in that MAC, it use an index/match function to assign Latitude, Longiture and Altitude of each photo in its metadata.

Do you really want to do business with a supplier who won't answer a probable customer's questions?

Probably not.

Is there any particular reason why you don't just stick your memory card in your Mac and copy the files over using Finder? This is the workflow I use.... albeit using a Windows 7 computer.  After copying the files over to the PC I import them into Adobe Lightroom.

 

I don't know if your MacBook Pro has a memory card slot but I'm fairly sure that someone makes an adapter that would allow you to mount your memory card like an external drive.

Well.  Of course you are right and this is the first thing I wanted to do.  However, in my region the XQD card readers are unavailable (out of stock of back orders).  So I am trying to find a short term solution.
