Nikon D750, D810 or D850...

15 November 2017 - 03:22 AM

Hi All,

I am a new photographer learning as much as I can all the time. I have done a fair bit of research into a new camera but I now need some advice.

I currently shoot on a D5200 DX and use it mainly for landscape, astro and general daily photography. Not ideal, but it works.

I am choosing to move to FX (can't wait), to get some proper wide angle lenses and some better ISO ratings from a larger sensor. Currently I shoot landscape for myself but at some point I would like to sell prints however I am still learning the ropes of landscape photography. I also want to get into event photography as I have some potential work through other clients (I'm a graphic designer) that keep asking me about photography.

I came to the decision that the D750 was the best option for me. It's lower cost than the D850 and I don't feel I can back my decision to buy the D850 as I am still learning, and the jump to the D750 will still be a big difference compared to my D5200.

Can anyone shed light on this decision?

Camera needs to be good for travel, hiking, landscape, astro, event, a bit of wildlife and I will be using it to do some filming too. Basically everything.

Lenses I am looking to partner with this are..

AF-S FX 14-24mm f/2.8G IF-ED

AF-S FX 24-70mm f/2.8E ED VR

AF-S 70-200mm f/2.8 IF-ED VR

Thanks! Appreciate any response
