Nikon 50mm AF-G f1.8

I don't have a 50mm, when I was given one by a lady for collecting some stuff for her. As I was going she said she found a lens of her late husbands would I like it, anyway would not accept money.

It's in mint condition.

I took it out today for a couple of shots & it certainly is a very good lens with my 7 series.

Looking forward to really trying it out.


50mm E Series F1.8 Lens

I have just purchased another Nikon camera, a D80 that's been converted with a 720 nm filter for Infrared photography.

Thought I'd like a go at it. I have a Nikon 18-55mm DX fitted on it.

I remember years back somewhere else that a Nikon 50mm E series f1.8 lens with the metal centre ring that has the Red dot was good for IR photography and mentioned something about the red dot with IR? Getting old and can't remember now. Hoping someone may enlighten me.
