Are there less expensive batteries that are worth buying for my d3300 or am I wasting my time? Thanks

Can anyone tell me about the program "Raw Therapee"? Does anyone use it and if so what is your opinion?

Thanks :(

Photos of Art question

18 February 2017 - 11:54 AM

Hello

I am photographing my  art work for my website & selling prints and have a question. On paintings say 24" x 36" where 24" is the height & 36" is the width that isn't a problem shooting because that's how the viewfinder is set up. My question is what if the painting is painted where 36' is the height & 24" is the width. Is it best to turn the camera 90 degrees to take the photo or take the photo horizontal and crop it later?  What will I loose or gain

Thanks

Tim

Hi I'm new to the forums, new to Nikon and new to DSLR.

I am a landscape painter and want to take better photos of my paintings. In the past I have been using the point and shoot type of camera.

I just bought a Nikon D3300 (kit) to get started. can anyone point me in the right direction on a good lens for this application?

Your thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
