snapbridge & iphone

I recently purchased a D5600 and I can't get the snapbridge app to stay connected to my iPhone, I know lots of people are having problems from all the bad reviews I've read but does anyone know how to actually succeed and stay connected? I want the snapbridge program to work mainly for geotagging my photos.
