I will be closing this thread since the giveaway is now officially over.

I just had a heart-stopping moment... I got an email that said I had a private message from an admin at the Nikon Forum.

 

It wasn't related to the give-away... LOL not cool man! LOL  

Beautiful places and photos...I'll throw in a few from my area...

 

Caught this sunset before a football game...had all my gear with me and shot several different views, but my favorite was this one which I took on my iPhone to send to my son who's away in college.

 

 

I was supposed to go out of town to photograph several baseball games for the weekend.  Rented a lens to keep things interesting (200-400) and the baseball got canceled...Went out to a local park to see what I could find...it was cold and had been windy.  The wind blew water up on branches over the river and it created a pretty interesting set of photos...saw the deer on my way out of the park...

 

As much as all of us would love to win an excellent new camera. I would suggest that we all have already won a prize when we discovered and joined this forum. Hopefully the enthusiasm for the site will continue into the future, when this camera draw is a distant memory, and we will all benefit by the tips, knowledge, blogs that people share, plus the opportunity to exhibit our images obtaining constructive, honest feedback. Not forgetting the chance to ask the most silly question in the world and have folk answer it with much grace. Thank you everyone for the prize I have already received from being a member of this forum.

It's not everyday a site is giving away a FF camera......quite a coup for this site!  I'm looking forward to seeing the first few shots from whomever is the winner!

I believe that Adam is just verifying the correct # of entries are in place for each person.  You get extra entries for different things and he's just confirming that each person has the correct # of entries so that it is fair for everyone.

I believe it just means that if you had 100 posts, you could get more entries in the contest. Kinda like the number of tickets you buy in a raffle.

I just wasn't sure if it meant I was disqualified for not having enough entries...

100 people claimed to have more than 500 posts based on the giveaway entries.  It's going to take a little while longer to verify all the entries and calculate the top 5% of entrants, but we're getting really close!

I'm hoping the same thing. I've said elsewhere that I hope it will be someone I "know," ha ha! That is, if it's not me. But I do really hope it's a frequent contributor and not just a drive-by poster.
I've enjoyed the forum too and plan to stick around.

Oh man the suspense is killing me! Even thought I doubt I'll win, I still have high hopes for the one who does as well as this forum!

 Look at it mathematically. 6619 total entries. I think the maximum number an individual could earn was 47.

 

47/6619 = 0.007 * 100 = 0.7% chance

 

Those are thin odds for even the highest ticket holders.  So, even if you had 6 entries (a minimal effort to say the least) your 0.1% chance of winning isn't TOO far off from the highest holder.

 

In short... it's really anyone's game!
