#47430 battery question is safe to use off brand that cheaper or stick one nikon uses

Posted by alshearin on 20 March 2017 - 09:04 AM

I am purchased what I thought were legit Nikon batteries from Amazon only to discover that they were knock-off and were inferior to the legit batteries from Nikon.  I reminded myself that I spent a lot of money for my camera and equipment so why skimp on a battery - the price difference is only a couple of trips to Starbucks :)

#47104 Netural Density Filter Recommendations Please

Posted by alshearin on 09 March 2017 - 09:26 AM

With that budget, Hoya or Tiffen are probably your best bet. A B+W is 100% over budget and a Heliopan or Singh-Ray are 200-250% over budget.

There are cheaper variable ND filters on the market, but with four glass-to-air surfaces I wouldn't want to go below Hoya's quality level.

Another way is to go for a Cokin P system with their 3-filter ND set, a holder and an adapter for mounting the holder. The advantage is that you will then already have the holder when you want to get a graduated ND filter.

THANKS!  I've read numerous responses from you on this forum and really appreciate the sharing of information / knowledge / experience.!!!

#45435 Coolpix p900 wi-fi to Laptop

Hi Paul

I had the same question and reached out to Nikon (via chat with Dukens).  I was trying to connect my camera to my laptop using a HDMI cable.  Dukens stated that the camera can only be connected to a TV with the HDMI cord.  I asked if there was a way to connect to a laptop and he provided me with the following software link and also a link to a cable that is needed.  I just got the links so have not tested it yet but wanted to share with you as I found your question when searching for answers before I contacted Nikon.

For software, you need Nikon ViewNX-i. Here is the link: http://downloadcente...load/sw/84.html
You will also need the UC-E21 USB Cable

Here is the link for the cable: http://www.nikonusa....page?pnbr=25885
