I'm a working photographer as many are on the forum, if i'm honest i don't ever look at magazines until i'm after new kit. I tend to review kit through mags and online. If you are online a lot you won't go far wrong looking at f11.

I like the image, but that tree cuts the image into 2 distinct portions, moving further right and stepping back would have balanced your shot out and still got in the wonderful scene of the kids and the sunset. The timber structure alone would make a great subject shot from the left as you would have wonderful soft golden light kissing the timber.
