i say D800 is best option. since when nikon made great leaps in stuff. also full frame. or can go with D700 too. but are great camera that should not break the bank. also find older model like one you ask for have really low shutter count of death too. 

catch it before it get removed taken on nikon Z9 28-75mm 75mm F/2.8 1/2000 ISO 4k aka 4,000 did not crop in only edit in lightroom to make photo pop. also had to add my watermark to photo since someone related to volleyball player aka parent used one my photo without my okay. but since coach ask to use for fundraiser i will let go. but from now on you see my name in top right of photo's now. since i told can not use my stuff without college giving okay and then ask me if okay. then i check with the college. since i am not allowed to make money or use without there okay. i was given okay to post on facebook for players family to see and print out free photo if i want too. i do for free and keep busy and out of trouble and something to do. also give me joy i sharing my work too. do not want to lose what college let me and camera buddy jay do take photo to share with players and family

i went from using to d5300 using for few 3 or more years to only having D7200 for six months and only using like 15 times for six months. to have to learn Z6 mirrorless. was major learning curve. you show not have one at all. but will take time learn how to use autofocusing system. all other should be same but having way better low light or higher shutter speed 

you need to see what happen to D850. looks like something not right on that camera. not sure if something happen to lens. also does the lens have VR on it. if not you have to tell 850 to setup VR. the mirrorless body's automaniac turn on VR for you unless you turn it off.  

I don't quite understand mass appeal of this lens. It's $2000, it a stop faster than other lenses in this range, it does have a highly rated IQ... but how useful is 35-150? Id rather have a 24-70 and a 70-200 at f/2.8. Id rather mount a 35/1.8G, 50/1.4, 85/1.8 when I needed a faster lens. Maybe I need to walk around with this lens for a few days. I got a friend with a Sony who thought it was the greatest lens ever.

for one thing good for me when i do volleyball or other sports or ren fair. since give me range i need. 70-200mm is to long at times for volleyball and for ren fair. have going down to 35mm to 150mm give range i need to where do not have to swap out the lens when gives me more range then 28-75mm will give me. also all i have to bring is that lens and 17mm-28mm so only 2 lens need to bring instead of 3 if need 

I was simply commenting on the lenses that had already been brought into the discussion. I don't have any actual experience with any of these lenses. However, I'm pretty sure the Tamron 35-150 would probably be a good all around lens as well.

i own the 28-75mm and get great photo at volleyball or ren fairs 

get Z7 II you never want to go back to DSLR again and its full frame. you can get tons old F mount lenses cheaper then Z lenses just Get Gen 2 FTZ mount. when i got Z6 never want to use D7200 again 

i have nikon Z 24-70 F/4 does not see light of day. 

i have nikon DX 12-24 F/4 does not get used at all 

i have F nikon 50 G lens F/1.8 does not see light of day or once in long time. 

i have 85mm and 105mm macro that only see light of day of doing portraits shooting or ren fair.

both sigma sport and c come out for sports for soccer baseball or softball. 

the Z nikon 17-28mm F/2.8only for ren fair 

the Z nikon 28-75mm F/2.8 ren fair or volleyball 

all lenses given to my brother or his son to own since we all have nikon brand cameras 

other lenses i use to owned and use all time for sports 

tamron 150-600mm gave to brother since does autofocus on Z bodies only used on D7200 or D5300 for sports.

nikon push pull. 100-400mm push pull to teach me to learn how to shoot manual mode and learn how to setup camera for shoot by hand and not let camera do all work for me. 

gen 1 70-200mm which was main lens  to shoot with when owned it. it would only lens on body in till got 105mm and 85mm g lens for nikon F mount since better at comic con. 

35mm was first lens to get after 18-55mm too. both hardly  got use. and once got 50mm lens they put on shelf and then 50mm once i got gen 1 70-200mm lens. 

went to volleyball last night for got to pack my Z9 and had relearn how to use Z6 since have not touch since last year around NOV for sports photography. i used once last month only for a group photo easy to get shot done for woman soccer team in grandstand watch the men playing. tips for people who has a lot of gear double check or make sure all is packed night before. it was chore learn how to shoot with Z6 inside gym with better lighting then last year and finding right mode for choice to get best autofocusing from camera. and learning when and when not to start your shoots and when to stop. since what i thought was in focus when caught person was not in focus. wish had Z9 too. since Z6 does not work well with pro sport lens Sigma Sport too. could make use of that lens also. 

taken on Z9 Gen 2 FTZ Sigma Sport 120-300mm 300mm F/2.8 1/800 ISO 640. it was shot as is with edit to pop and crop in. found preset that let me set denoise up with out use lightroom AI denoise.  enjoy this super hero shot. also i sold my self short. i thought all my photo's where bad and no good. also do not know how long will stay up since facebook link.

this photo was take on pitch or next to stairs on right side of bleachers. where i can only be. since not allowed on pitch. unless i next to table on left side of bleachers near stairs. since i do not have personal insurance to cover damage or fact someone or company  did not get me media pass. nikon Z9 Gen 2 FTZ Sigma sport 120-300mm 220mm F/2.8 1/800 ISO 5k aka 5000. i all i did was crop photo in and did preset in lightroom bring out colors more.

okay do not know how or why got this shot today. camera was not did not like the light at stadium today. but this was before the sun came down and ruin majority of my photo's this one done shot. will have edit later to post so enjoy my Z9 Gen 2 FTZ Sigma Sport 120-300mm 220mm F/2.8 1/1000 ISO 280. i have rarity from me and others. do not recall if she got the yellow for kick or not but ball land in no man land and she kick ball and leg at same time enjoy my photo before it goes down. 

okay this one done shot. only thing might do is crop little on shot. taken on Z9 Gen 2 FTZ Sigma Sport 120-300mm F/2.8. 300mm F/2.8 1/1600 ISO 130. also if you wonder will never use monopod while holding the 10lb camera setup. does not feel right will try out tripod out one day but way its well balance in the hand might not feel right or give movement to move fast up down or left right. also not sure how long will stay up since i shoot high res photo. do to fact this site only show for few days then gone
