Rather limited time this week, as we had a new bathroom being installed.

We only have one bathroom, so staying on-site was out of the question.

We therefore stayed in a hotel in Margate whilst the works went ahead.

This left time for evening pictures around the town.

You’ll gather, from the lack of posts in the last few months, that the Canon isn’t inspiring me! It’s the DR, or lack thereof. Everything else I can live with.

However, my phone lens just isn’t long enough for dog pics, so I took the Canon and that lovely 200/2.8 L lens out for a walk yesterday.

The Sigma APO 170-500mm f5-6.5 zoom it's ok to spotting planes and birds if you use Hi-speed, you will not need tripod, always shot more than 1/125 speed, and you will not regret that don't have stabilizer even not noticed.

I disagree with not needing stabilization for planes… it works well with jets, but prop planes need dragging the shutter and panning if you don’t want them to look as if they are gliding with engines off.  
 

How wrong would this look @1/125?

It was shot @1/60 and still a bit to short an exposure. I would have preferred 1/45 or 1/30, but 1/30 @ 600 mm without a monopod is a bit much, even with a stabilized lens… 

This was @ 1/50…

…and this @ 1/40.

Background:

I used this PC bizarre lens for street art at night in one dangerous zone of Barcelona Parallel, sometimes the best graffiti it's in this kind of areas, enjoy it is pure urban bizarre deep art about drugs and death, scary YES
D3 at night at ISO 6400, awesome, this old lens works excellent in the D3.

I think it's my best picture of the week and the test of one awesome lens.
