This is a real Mommy-Daughter moment, perfectly preserved.

Basic edits in Capture NX-D.

ADL changed to Normal from Auto. The setting as captured is between Low and Normal, closer to Low.

Picture control changed to [LS] Landscape from [SD) Standard.

LoCA removal activated

A great night scene, Malice!

I tried to bring out the colours and respect the character of the night scene.

Using DxO Optics, I applied a crop, spot weighted lighting, perspective correction, contrast and vibrance.

I used the white balance tool for effect on the colours.

Which gave me this result:

I certainly wanted to have a look at this scene in b&w. Used Silver Efex.

Thanks, Malice for lending us this image to work on!

Great pic Malace.  Love the colors, almost like night street art.

i performed my edits in LR5, started by cropping both the left and right sides to eliminate some distractions.  I tried to leave the street light on the right for balance, but it just didn't work for me.  I used the lens correction panel to upright the tower and storage tanks. I enhanced the colors in the color pallet while reducing some shadows.  I lightened the roadway in the foreground as I thought it added to the industrial look.  I thought a b/w version may seem dull but i like the Topaz edit version.

Thanks Malace.

#44294 What to bring on our trip to Hawaii

The albums work ok now. Nice work!

The 14-24 isn't an easy lens to master as that front element finds any stray light and turns it into flare if you aren't careful. The results when everything is right is spectacular, though.

I'd support what Ron is proposing, taking the 14-24/2.8 for ultra2extra wide, and the 24-120/4 for the general purpose. This will give you the full range from 14 to 120mm.

The 24-120/4 will be 3-4 times the price of an 50/1.8, but likely become your walk around lens, unless you want to go for the lens trinity (in which case your next lens would be the 24-70/2.8, but double the price of a 24-120/4 lens, and the following one the 70-200/2.8)

Edit:
Just checked your profile and found that you already own the 24-70/2.8 :)
