Thanks for the insight into how you got that shot. Nice job! I'm so sorry to hear that your treatments haven't helped--I really hope they can find something that will work for you. Don't know if you believe in the power of prayer, but I do, so I'll be praying for you and your doctors.

Yes I do believe in the power of prayer.

Steve, thanks for posting that lovely set of nature photos. The butterfly is especially attractive--were you fairly close with a shorter focal length on that one? It looks like you have quite a bit of depth of field, so I'm trying to figure out your focal length and aperture! I don't do close up very well--it's something I'm working on. :) Also glad to see you here--hope you're doing well. Treatments going ok?

No I was a ways away. I had been shooting Swans that were a long ways away with no Tripod. I got in my car and drove down the road a ways and this butterfly landed on the road other side. I just shot right away. My Shutter was up at 2000. My aperture was 6.3 and ISO was automatic at 5000. I was using my Nikon 80-400 and was extended out all the way to 400.

As for my health and treatments. The treatments have not shrunk the cancer and the cancer only has spread so they have quit with the chemo. Right one I don’t know the next step. Thank you for asking. I can patiently wait at this time.

Sorry for the long reply.

Hi Steve! Haven't seen you here in awhile. Hope things are looking up for you.

I'll submit this one a little early and if I get something better later in the week I'll post that, too. We've had a lot of rain this week and I thought the small streams in Shenandoah park should be running pretty full so my wife and I went up for a look. There's one in particular that is pretty easy to access and has several waterfalls. I wanted to go upstream to one of the falls that is much wider and more open, but the rain started again about the time we arrived. I got a couple of shots before we headed back, but by the time we walked the mile back to the truck we were soaked. Even the dog was giving me dirty looks... :)

Yes it had been awhile since I have been here. My sickness has kept Mt my home and am not allowed to drive.

By the way a great picture you have posted.

Hello to allow.

Have you, by any chance, managed to activate the focus limiter that sits on the side of the lens? When in the full focus range, the minimum focus distance should be 11.8". The MFD is the distance from the subject to the focal plane in the body.

Yes I did. Discussed with B & H this morning. WoW talk about service. It is five days beyound my 30 day no questions asked policy. After a couple questions from B & H I had a return slip. They are sending me out a new lens. Pretty good service if you ask me.
