Wasabi batteries have always been great for me. I've bought them for several brands and never had an issue.

#41094 Powered strobes

I'd actually love to use Photix. That's the flashes I have, so I already own the triggers. I looked at the reviews on B&H, and they are all over the place. Granted, most of the recent ones are very positive, so maybe they worked out the kinks.

Can these be run strictly from AC power, or only the battery pack? I worry that the battery won't last as long as I need it to.

As far as I can tell it's one or the other. The AC pack looks like the battery pack except it's plugged in. I'm curious if that'd make the recycle time even quicker? I don't ever drain the battery so I never looked into in. I only have the Odin for Nikon but I do have a mitros+ for sony and it works great too.

I use an Indra 500 from Phottix. They also have an Indra 360 which is a little cheaper. They are fully featured so ttl and hss abilities are built in. They come with a battery pack that I think is rated for 200 full powered shots. They're controlled by the Phottix Odin though you'll want the Odin ii since you want more than 3 lights (Odin ii controls up to 5) I've been very happy with mine, been using it for a while and it's been reliable. It may not keep up with an extended burst from them d5 but it refreshes pretty quick. Just look into it though, I've heard people are having issues with Phottix (and other 3rd party) flashes and strobes with the d500 so the d5 may have the same thing.

#40906 Nice rumour (105/1.4)

Sounds awesome but the price is painful (understandable though). These days, I've just about got all the lenses I think I'll need for Nikon. I'm eyeballing a D500 for it's amazing AF and buffer which would definitely help when shooting certain events since my D800 and D750, while amazing cameras, just can't keep up sometimes. I may try to sell my D800 if I can get anywhere near a decent price for it.

As for your dilemma, I'd probably pick up the glass first. I'm personally only considering a new body because I've got every focal length I use already, even if not the fastest version.

#40905 Show your bag!

My big bag I've used for the past 2 weddings I've shot. Gets heavy quick but if there's a smooth surface, it's easy to roll around and has a telescoping handle. The smaller, mirrorless bag I've also used for DSLRs before. I even fit a Tamron 150-600 in there (the bag up top is removable) I didn't include a photo of the bag my Phottix Indra500 comes in but I usually fill it with batteries and the tranceivers for both Phottix and Yongnuo and a collapsible softbox will fit in there too. I took these with my Nikon D50 and SB-600 (which normally fits at the bottom of the other 2 flashes flat)

Please share how you achieved your result. You don't have to be as detailed as Bart's or Urban's descriptions but some hints will help others.

Sure. Sorry about that, I actually had a screenshot ready but when I posted my edit, I didn't see anything (being new it said it had to be approved by a mod or something) so I wasn't sure it actually went through. Forgot to come back and check if it did.

In addition I had a graduated filter on top and bottom which had clarity and reduced exposure

My name is Orwin. I just found this Nikon forum and wanted to see what you all were doing on this site. I've been shooting for about 10 years but only got serious about it a couple years back. My website is orwin-santacruz.squarespace.com

I look forward to seeing and sharing photos with you all!
