D610 long exposure question

22 November 2015 - 11:11 AM

So ive been shooting for about two years now, last year I shot with a  D90 then a friend of mine said I should upgrade to a full frame camera, so I purchased the D610.

the problem im having is trying to do long exposures, ones upward of a couple minutes. with the d90 I was able to do very long exposures with the help of the Nikon remote. however when I try doing equally long exposures with the d610, the camera stops at 30 seconds. now I have the camera in manual, ISO is set according to the lighting and shutter speed on "bulb" for the remote. ive searched for a couple hours trying to figure this out but im ready to tap out. any help would be great
