To be honest IMO there is little benefit if any to using the 1.3 crop much better done on the PC later, with the small buffer on the D7O/D7100 reduced file size may have helped with FPS but not much.

Cant be a lot of help but i did for a while shoot raw and jpeg on my Nikon V2,from what i remember using one of the older versions of Nikon view,it tended to give the impression there was only one file for each image but there where two.

That looks like the budget model,if i was going tamron 70-300 i would push my budget for this one, apart from better IQ one main reason is it has image stabilization built in which could be a great help at 300mm,this link is a genuine import with 5 year warranty.

A cheaper alternative could be the Nikon 55-300,here is a sample taken on a Nikon V2.
A bit more expensive but i used to get good results from the Sigma 120-400 sample taken with a Nikon D7100

This camera should shake things up a bit. Nikon pulled a little bait and switch with the D5 pre-announcement. It looks like nobody... and I mean NO BODY saw this one coming. The specs are gorgeous though. I wish I could afford it.

Its surprising how soon the price will drop, recently got my D7200 for just over £600 and its not a gray, sold the free grip and took that off the cost you end up with a great price.give it a year.

Must say with wildlife i find auto ISO and manual a great mix,i can control shutter speed and aperture via the front and back wheel, and still control ISO by judging the light level (approximately) and changing one of the other two.
I love Ducks and Sea Gulls in flight, the shapes they produce with there wings fascinate me.

Nice captures Mike.
Does the V2 fully recognize and operate the Sigma 150-600? If so that gets you a possible focal length equivalent of 1600mm.
I have tested the Tamron 150-600 on a Nikon 1 J5 and the J5 had some issues with managing the aperture.
It recognized the 150-600 C the same as a Nikon AFS lens,i dont have the lens anymore as it gave inconsistant results on my D7200,I now have the Tamron 150-600 and they dont like playing together, another sample from that outfit.
Any idea how i can get a spell check to work on here with firefox?
