#67882 D7200 focus issues, not rectified through AF Fine Tune

Posted by mikew on 18 May 2020 - 12:10 AM

Has the camera had any sort of knock, its possible the phase detect unit is slightly out, if so this would not affect live view focusing as it uses contrast as far as  know.

Have you tried using a tripod and one lens, say the 70 200 at 200, without moving the camera set it at its max minus adjustment take an image then set it to its max plus adjustment and take the same image, see what difference you get

#67012 DX to FX

Posted by mikew on 16 March 2020 - 04:40 AM

Hi, from what I read, the FX is a bigger sensor and receives more image detail equalling better image quality. I find the image quality a little dull, despite using varying settings and image save types and am presuming that its the sensor. I have post capture software that can improve that, but I'dlike to get the best image possible from source.

To be honest and not trying to be rude only helpful,FX is not a magic bullet, lets see some DX results so we can help before buying into FX.

Not suggesting flare, thinking more sensor damage from being pointed at the sun.

#66942 P1000 Focus Issues

Posted by mikew on 11 March 2020 - 04:01 AM

I have not used it but atmospheric degradation increases with the distance, other things come into play like surface your shooting over, temperature and others, the reason it looks good on the camera back is due to the small backlit image you are viewing, going to stick my neck here and say buying a different camera and doing the same thing will give the same results.

The reason you have seen others complain is because of the same thing, not the answer you want but i had a P900 and would limit my expectations as the distance increased, i viewed it as a tool to get large images of small subjects over a short to medium distance.

Look at this about 1m30 sec in you can see the foreground being distorted due to the atmosphere, then imagine a still image of it.

#66940 D750 under exposure

Posted by mikew on 11 March 2020 - 12:54 AM

I dont think you have a problem with the 750 the 3400 due to its place in the market is designed to give you an acceptable image with low or no input from you,the 750 is a pro tool which could need its settings tweaking by you to give the results you want.
