Absolutely!!! Reason why I own a tokina 16-35 f4When I was looking for a 35mm the Sigma 35/f1.4 Art and the Nikon 35/f1.8 were more or less the same price.
I got the Nikon f1.8 as it was so much smaller and lighter, and the reality is that I don't need f1.4. So you don't always need that extra light gathering or sharpness, there are other factors to consider.
