The canal was ordered in 1613 but the original parts are much older. As old as 1250.

Boats were pulled by horses on the banks. That's why just next to the canals and rivers, there's often still a path on the banks.

No longer for the horses pulling the boats but especially for bicycles and hikers. Or the occasional weekend-photographer ...

These are from early November - 2022 that is.

all with nikkor 58mm f/1.2 on Df, converted in DxO PL7 and into b&w with Silver Efex 6 - except #12: straight out of PL7.

During our "staycation", I even shot some photos in our own neighbourhood  :)

 

I took some digital images as well but who knows when these will get processed  :rolleyes:

When a film roll returns, I think it's just some 30+ images so, I'll process these quickly ("between the soup and the potatoes" as we say over here  :) )

This vacation we stayed at home - for a number of reasons.
 
We did however made some small walkarounds in the vicinity. I brought along a rangefinder camera and some old(er) lenses.
 
This first set is from a village between Ghent and Antwerp, Zaffelare.
