I agree, I think the main focus is to get us out there improving on what we know and how to improve  I particularly like having the metadata listed.

We need to be encouraging each other with helpful hints and "atta boys", not discouraging remarks.

This is exactly why nobody wants to post in these things.

Yep, I was thinking I'm really going to have to step up my game if I don't want my work to look silly next to all these great photos. So far this week I haven't done much I want to show off!

But I guess that's the purpose, eh? To get us out there and stretching a bit...

I just do not think birds in captivity are the same as in the wild. Although they are all beautiful most folks will have to take their shots in a natural condition, I just don't feel the playing field is level using birds that although a somewhat natural setting but in captivity is the same.

Well done and congratulations Alden, as commented by Nicole (nbanjogal) above, I look forward to seeing your first photo's with your new camera and would actually like to see a photo of the camera in it's box when it arrives. I am particularly pleased it was you as you were on my mental list of those I hoped would win. My main disapointment is that Nicole's handle - nhanjogal does not appear on the list, as she has provided us all with encouragement and helpful tips over the past few months - which I think that many of you would agree.

As much as all of us would love to win an excellent new camera. I would suggest that we all have already won a prize when we discovered and joined this forum. Hopefully the enthusiasm for the site will continue into the future, when this camera draw is a distant memory, and we will all benefit by the tips, knowledge, blogs that people share, plus the opportunity to exhibit our images obtaining constructive, honest feedback. Not forgetting the chance to ask the most silly question in the world and have folk answer it with much grace. Thank you everyone for the prize I have already received from being a member of this forum.

It's not everyday a site is giving away a FF camera......quite a coup for this site!  I'm looking forward to seeing the first few shots from whomever is the winner!
