Top picture:

Trying out my new Nikon B700 and this Golden Orb Weaver spider was kind enough to pose for me.

Nikon Coolpix B700

Macro setting automatic exposure and focus

Focal Length 22.4mm

shutter 1/250

Aperture F5

Compensation - nil

Centre Picture,

Another Orb Weaver shot with my old Fuji Finepix. This lady became so used to me I could stroke her. Hubby is creeping in with amorous intentions and probably hoping not to get eaten.

Fuji Finepix S1500

Macro setting, auto exposure and focus

Focal length 5.9mm

Shutter 1/60

Aperture F2.8

Another shot of my first eight legged model, this time posing with her husband:

Nikon Coolpix B700

Macro setting with Auto focus and exposure

Shutter 1/400

Aperture F4.5

Focal Length 15.2mm

Lighting evened up in Photoshop to bring out detail on highlights and lighten shadows.

Two more of my favourite 8 legged model. Hubby is still around but the missus has really added some girth as her eggs develop. In a couple of weeks she will wrap them in a small egg-shaped cocoon of spider silk and hide them somewhere in the bushes. Soon after she gets her bikini body back she will die. :(

Both taken with my Nikon Coolpix B700 on auto.

Left image:

Focal length 39.4

Aperture F5.3

Shutter 1/80

Compensation +.7
