Hello!

My Nikon d800E card reader is malfunctioning. I was shooting a 100lb dog* and he launched at the camera - his head made direct impact with the memory card side of the body. Immediately the CARD ERR sign started flashing, although I was still able to get some shots.

First round of troubleshooting made it seem like maybe he had just broken the SD memory card, because once I changed that out the problem seemed solved and I was able to do a full successful shoot the next day. However, now my computer wont recognize the camera as having photos on it. I placed the cards in an external reader and everything worked fine, so it is definitely the card reader on the camera. I am still able to access and review all the photos on the camera screen.

Does anyone have any idea what is wrong and how to solve it?

*he is absolutely fine and was not injured in the process.
