I have owned a 7100 for 3 or 4 years ,and I am wondering if an up grade to D500 is worth it. I have been pretty happy with the performance of the 7100,most of my photography centres around  non league soccer matches, but only as a hobbyist, although I occasionally post photos on the fans forum.I understand the focus ,and low light performance are very good on the D 500.But I have never used one.My 2 lenses are 2.8 200-70 ,and 15 -55 2.8.Please advise ,thank you.

The low-light performance of the D7100 is already very good, but the focus system, the professional ergonomics and the not running out of buffer would make the upgrade worth doing for any kind of sports photography. The low-light is even better, but not enough to justify the upgrade on it's own.

The only thing to remember if you buy a D500 you will have NO excuses for missed shots :D

Don't believe that one even if he is only kidding!!!  :)  I have one so I know!

Seriously - the info Merco provided is very true.  I have been happy with my D500 so far and it gets used along side my D4 bodies for sports and other shooting.

So did i for 6 months and the OP will find it well advanced over his D7100 and far more likley to bag the shot but as you say not 100%

Thx guys for your input,I will probably continue for a while with the 7100 before making the leap, as the D500 aint cheap.
