My brand new D850 I bought in end of december 2017 had a lot of problems revealed during the course of the subsequent weeks.  The problems were as listed below:

1. Control panel still lighted (ON) after turning off the camera

2. Menu settings not being saved (for expl I wanted to change the prefix of file name.  After saving the new one and exiting the menu, when I come back it still shows the old prefix.

3. Battery drain is important.  Even if the camera is off, and the airplane mode is ON, overnight the baterry is completely empty.

4. After shooting  picture, the monitor on the back is not displaying the picture I took, but an old one shot a few days before.

5. When in shutter priority mode, with the correct knob, I cant choose a speed higher than 1/250.

6. and many other problems I cant list here.

Has someone came up with the same situation?  If yes did you get a speedy repair from Nikon ? What did they say culd be the source of the problems ?

Not to your camera but Nikon warranty. I had a lens go kaput. It took five days to get out to the repair place. I guess I could have paid foe expedited shipping. Once at the factory six days and then four days back.

My less than 2 months old D850 stopped working properly last week. It started freezing after I tried to connect to my tablet via Bluetooth (Snapbridge application). Factory reset done twice didn't solve the problem. Tried to update the firmware to the latest version. No luck either (failing to complete the update). Finally had to send it back to Nikon for repair. They said it will take between 2 and 6 weeks depending on what is wrong with the camera.

Having very similar issues with our 850 purchased in November. Camera will not reset to factory default or take the latest firmware update. It also won’t shut off completely, leading to drained batteries overnight. I think our issues derives from a broken SnapBridge upload. The camera is constantly searching and trying to send an image. I’ve tried to reset every thing but nothing will take. The only way to shut the camera down is to remove the battery. Upon powering back on, all the setting are right bCk in their trouble making positions.

My D850 bracket button does not function.  It has not been reassigned.  I get part of the info in the lcd screen, and can set the number of bracket shots, but cannot set the EV spacing.  I don't get the scale showing the number and spacing of shots in graphic form.  I've been using my D810 for several years and know how this should work.
