Sometime before midnight (whatever time zone you are in) this Sunday, 11 February 2018, post the best photo you have taken this week. Any subject, any style—just give us your best shot.

If you can, list your EXIF info and any special lighting setups you may have used.

P.S. Peter is running a fun single-lens challenge--everyone is welcome to play. Just look for the One Week, One Camera, One Lens thread in the mini-challenge forums.

P.P.S. The editing exercises are taking a break at the moment, but feel free to play around in the old exercises.

OK, I'll go first this week.  We had some freezing rain Sunday night but Monday morning the skies were clear.  I caught this scene as the morning sun sparkled through the ice on some tree branches.

Ran across some eagles today. A bit of trouble focusing with all the branches

As you might have seen elsewhere, I attended a music gig with permission to take photos on Tuesday.

This young R'n'B artist stood out as he didn't have a band around him or even a guitar on stage, just the instrumental part of his performance on a computer and the vocals live.

Got out and did some railfanning today.   The Amtrak Empire Builder runs through my area or an hour away.  Today a Heritage Unit #822 was leading the pack.  Very seldom do we get the Heritage Units.  Because it was stopped down the line to allow another train to pass I was able to get it two locations.

Both photos are Shutter Speed of 1/1600, F11 and ISO automatic at 800.

Excellent captures here.

Didn‘t have time for walking out with the camera, except for a dive on Sunday.

So adding a few pictures here, which show some technical leftover of materials left in one of the quaries.
