My combination for this week will be the D7200 and AF-S Nikkor 24/1.8G ED, again. Last week was short because of inhospitable weather and abysmal light. It looks like this week will start in a similar way, but get better later. I don't go hobby shooting in -10°C and 8 m/s. The exercise should be fun, so I avoid days when the light is too harsh or soft to get anything usable without working hard for every shot. It can be done, and on assignment has to be done, but it isn't fun at all.

If anyone else wants to shoot a single lens with me for a week, feel free to post what you get in this thread.

Don't forget that the subject says one lens, so you can use your favourite zoom if you want to, it doesn't have to be a prime. The idea behind this exercise is to get in the habit of using our cameras. Remember that the best camera is the one you have with you and are familiar with.

D7200 with Nikon 80 - 400mm f/4.5-5.6G ED AF-S VR
Shutter 1/1600, Aperture 7.1, ISO Automatic at 560. Shutter Mode

I was high on the Shutter because I was taking photos with the tripod on an object that was a long ways away. This Hawk just happen to come up behind me so I turned and shot. He didn’t stay as soon as I got turned and shot he took off.

Shutter Mode, Shutter Speed 1/1250, Aperture 6.3, ISO Automatic at 125.
Funny thing is I had a person tell me this picture was poor in the fact the Goose had its head down. Don’t care I waited and waited plus in my opinion this is part of their nature.

As I expected, the light wasn't interesting during the day...

Things got better this evening, though.

No photos today... Snowstorm in the morning became a sleety drizzle some hours later.

Today's walk after work took 27 minutes from the first to the last photo. Quite a dramatic difference in light between the two photos of the castle.

The first four are sculptures on the grounds at the Heard North American Indian Museum.  #5 is a corridor at the museum.
